Die DILMUN Schilfboote

The name DILMUN refers to Dominique Görlitz's early experimental reed boat projects. It refers to the island of the same name in Bahrain in the Persian Gulf, which in Sumerian tradition was considered the seat of the god Enki – patron saint of sailors and god of wisdom and science. In this sense, the DILMUN series represents the beginning of an experimental approach to the technical possibilities of early seafaring and forms the foundation of all subsequent ABORA expeditions.
